Hellloooo summer! Shall we have a drink?
Sangria has been on our minds lately and we thought -oh this will be simple. Ha! It took us days to find a simple, fruit centric recipe, without herbs.
We searched websites, blogs, and asked for input on Facebook. Everything we came across just seemed to complicated, had to many ingredients, and to much alcohol. We should have known to start at home; mom realized she had a cookbook on food and wine from Spain, called The Foods & Wines of Spain (hehe). She had forgotten about the book and all the yummy recipes inside. This one is staying out, we'll be sharing more from it in the future.
Ingredients
- White wine 1 bottle, 708g
- Grand Marnier 2TB, 30g
- Club soda 1c, 250g
- Sugar 2TB, 25g (we used Agave, 2TB)
We chose to use:
Makes 4, 1 cup servings
Preparation
Cut plum, nectarine, and mango into similar sized slices.
Add wine, grand marnier, sugar, and fruit to a large container; cover and refrigerate overnight.
Before serving, add club soda and ice.
We chose not to include the fruit in the nutrition label because it's a personal choice. What type of fruit one uses and whether to eat it or not to eat it. So if you do eat it, log it*.

White Bean Spread
This recipe needs to be in your repertoire. It's tasty and super easy. Play around with it, maybe add sun-dried tomatoes or calamata olives or make it super herby (did I just make up that word?).
We sit here this evening imagining ourselves on a porch swing, glass of sangria in hand, munching on crispy baguette with this bean dip. A little bit of heaven.
Ingredients
- White beans 1c, 179g
- Lemon juice 1TB, 15g
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1TB, 15g
- Salt + Pepper -to your taste
- Herb of choice 1tsp, 1g -thyme, chive, rosemary, etc.
Makes 15, 1 tablespoon servings
Preparation
Place beans in food processor and blend to desired consistency. Add lemon juice, olive oil, and salt and pepper.
Garnish with herbs and a little drizzle of EVOO -I totally forgot to add this when taking the photos. Arg!
Use as a spread or dip on crackers or toasted baguette. How about on a sandwich? Yum!
