there were soooo many people at felt club!
a big thank you to everyone that came by our booth -you made it a great day!
we were happily situated between good friend miriam dema on one side and fellow san diegans boygirlparty on the other side (whom we ran into at in-and-out burger on the way home).
we shared a booth with my sister at this show, boy was her line of jessica(fied) jewelry a hit!
thanks again everyone!

rain, shine or wind

holy cow it was windy at the patchwork show sunday. a few mirrors and unfortunately i think a few ceramic pieces were sacrificed during the day. aside from the wind it was a good day; we saw familiar faces and made new friends.
Patchwork3b i only took a few pictures this time.

reminder: we will be at felt club next sunday.

rain or shine

since thursday we've had beautiful, warm weather and this morning we woke to a gray and blustery day.
rain or shine... we've packed up the truck and are heading to santa ana for the patchwork show (11-5pm). we have a cover for our booth and an expectation of a great day -as patchwork has always been fun.
don't let the clouds keep you in, come by the best indie craft fair in orange county.

renegade sf was fun!

Renegade1it was a big space.
jessica and mom heading inside.

Renegade3 day 1 outfits:
we got such a great response from everyone at the show. the tie was definitely a hit.

Renegade4 our peasant blouse was well received as were the mini nu-nu dolls.

Renegade5 day 2 outfits:

Renegade2our booth

the show was really great. lot's of people in attendance and all of my friends showed up (thanks guys)! mom and i were stoked at the response we received; the bay area really appreciated our workmanship, pattern mixing and classic styles. everything from the dolls to the t-shirts, skirts, peasant blouses and ties (especially the ties) did really well. we love the thought that there are a bunch of little munchkins (a few women and one french bulldog too) walking around wearing m.o.m clothing!

we had great neighbors, one of which was cathy of california -she was really nice. on the back side of us was  i *heart* guts! we first learned of them at felt club in los angeles. we lucked out and my sisters booth (jessica(fied) jewelry) was just to the left of us on the back side, so we were able to help her out because she worked her booth alone.

as i mentioned before heading to the show, our schedule was so tight we didn't have much time to get around town; but we did make it to o'chame saturday night for dinner and my mom and sister enjoyed it as much as i had hoped they would. our hotel was in japantown so we did get to the kinokuniya bookstore and i bought one book for myself, then we stayed in the mall for a sushi dinner (when i was 15, my mother, step-father and I took a trip to japan, the smells inside the mall and the restaurant were exactly like japan).

i've posted more pictures of the event on flickr.

a really huge thank you to everyone that stopped by our booth to say hi, make a purchase or comment on our clothing or the picture of my grandmother. it was really special for us to see your response to our work. thank you.

added note: we met some lovely people at the show and danica was one of them, she's written a post about the day on her blog slow progress and gave a nice m.o.m mention.

san francisco or bust!

Sanfranflyer
besides us, there are a few more southern california peeps heading to renegade:
mahar dry goods
jessica(fied)
check out all the vendors.

my mother, sister and i will be heading out early friday morning. we've decided to drive because of all the stuff we have to bring for the show. we're throwing everything in my aunts minivan and rollin' tough! we got a room at the hotel tomo which i'm excited about. i looked into it after learning about it and seeing a picture at something's hiding in here. it was way too cool to pass up, and we got a california residence discount -score! we aren't able to stay in town long which is a bummer; so one of my "must do's" is dinner at o'chame in berkeley. the udon noodle with pork is to-die-for, the scallion pancake and seared tuna with wasabi mustard are great starters and to finish the meal, a scoop of balsamic vinegar ice cream (i know it sounds funky, but when reduced, balamic vinegar is quite sweet) and that's saying something because i'm a complete, chocolate-at-the-end-of-every-meal gal. if we can squeeze it in, we would of course love to stop by rare device and perhaps meet the ladies we read so much about, lisa congdon and rena tom.
hopefully some of my friends from oakland will make the trek over the bridge to say hi and if there are readers who live in the bay area and are planning on coming to the show, please say hello; we would love to meet you in person!
