saturday was a lot of fun.
people stopped by to have their portrait taken, ask what was going on, and some just slowed down and stared as they drove by....hiya!

we're already thinking about father's day and are nearly set on doing this all over again. we'll let you know what we decide.

besides sharing behind the camera duties with siobhan, and being in front of the camera (i have a mother too), i also got some "behind the scenes" shots.

We're gonna have so much fun next Saturday! Siobhan is a new friend; she and I went to Art Center in Pasadena (at different times), we both majored in photography, and now we're studio neighbors!

For the shoot, m•o•m has created a backdrop and we're pulling out the 4x5 camera and shooting instant film. Siobhan will have mats and frames for an additional $25. It's a complete Mother's Day gift.

A portrait is $40 ($35 for subsequent images). Bring your kids, siblings, dog, or entire family. No appointments, first come first served. Hope to see you Saturday!

wow, this portrait of my friend tracy and her son max is probably 15 years old. tracy came with two other sons, to our grand opening party -we hadn't seen each other in probably 5 years.

look at that face. there's a lot more gray on it these days.

salon á magnolia creek today!

the second salon is happening today and phew am i glad it's here. organizing this with robyn while getting ready for renegade san francisco was a lot to take on.
this salon has a great chaity: BADRAP out of oakland ca. they rescue pitbulls, find them loving homes and educate the public on the inherant good-natured side of these animals. i didn't know this, but during the victorian era, pitbulls were the number one family dog -that's where the inspiration came for the image on this months invitation (i am having so much fun making those).
if you are in the san diego area today, come by the salon 11-4pm, meet tim and donna of BADRAP along with two dogs from former pro football player michael vick (both dogs have been adopted)!
we are holding a wine raffle and silent auction today with some really great items from local businesses and artists.

This is an ad for a local bicycle company, and that's my mom!
I was the photographer. This isn't current work (about 10 years old), but I wanted to share anyway; to give a glimpse into some of the projects that we have collaborated on over the years.
The caption reads, "Tere Jensen, swing dancing again at age 50, cruisin' to her favorite café."
Electra got really good use out of this picture, it was in their catalog for 4 years, on their website and even made into a poster. Once, my mom was recognized -a man said, "hey, you're the Electra girl!" She was embarrassed.
