42nd and Orange

two birthdays, one night

this lovely evening happened in february.

my sister and mother's birthday's are exactly one week apart. this year we celebrated their special days together at a new favorite restaurant called alexander's. and on this visit, alexander himself served us. it was a lovely evening filled with champagne, laughter and gorgeous food.

pie day was soooo good!

last saturday was our first, "it's time for pie" day at the studio. friends old and new came by to either share their sweet creations, or simply lift a fork in support.
a big Thank You from us to everyone that came by, you made it a fun and filling day for us.

one of our favorite new people, lauren brought individual blackberry pies. they were a complete hit!

ha! this guy was great. he and his gorgeous family came by so i asked him to hold a piece of pie. they were italian and i'm pretty sure he thought i was crazy.

and of course all the cute boys stopped by for some pie.

pie day at 42nd and Orange!

our good friend miss lia believes every day is pie day -how can you argue with that? well we've decided to celebrate the humble pie next saturday the 21st by baking a few ourselves. we invite you to bake a pie, tart, or gallette and bring it to the studio to share your fabulousness with others. don't know how to bake? -no worries, you're welcome to come enjoy a slice, or two.

we hope to see you saturday at 11am, and with everything at 42nd and Orange: homemade is best!

note: yep we realize we missed the actual Pi day (3.14), which was last saturday. we've never been good at math.

the man in the video was the instructor of the 6 week tango class i just completed. i want more. the dancing in the video is not choreographed, it's completely improvised...lead and follow. fabulous.

getting excited

we "spring forward" this sunday. i can't wait. i'm really looking forward to longer days, especially now that we have the studio. i know the light down there is going to be good. plus we have really great neighbors and i just know there will be lingering after hours, watching the sunset. not a bad thing to look forward to.

i kid you not, last friday i stepped out of the studio and this is what i saw. i gasped and ran for the camera.
