we had the loveliest visitors saturday afternoon, taku and kanako hoshizawa and their adorable kids (whose names i do not remember - i could kick myself, not only did i not write down their names, i didn't even take pictures!). we met taku at the encinitas poinsettia festival last november. he is from japan but was staying in chula vista (a south san diego city), which is approximately a 40 minute drive from encinitas. he liked our things and mentioned that our style is just what his wife likes too. he signed our mailing list, purchased a bib and that was that. well saturday we got a phone call from taku asking if he could come by our "store". we explained that we don't have a store, but he was welcome to come by our "workshop" (home). it was so great when not only taku, but his wife and children (1 girl, 1 boy) showed up also -to do a little shopping. mrs. hoshizawa and the children only just arrived in the states earlier this month, they now all live in chula vista (i can't imagine the culture shock they are going through) -let's hope they like mexican food.
kanako picked out some things for her daughter and also placed an order for a custom nanny's pinafore. yea! we love visitors!

Hi, this is Tere. Bethany took a few pictures the other night while I was making the pinafore; I worked on it Saturday evening and again last night...take a look.

Here you can see the nu-nu doll appliqué and I'm considering a simple trim of red rick rack.

Pinning the facing to the body.

Ta-da! What do you think?

My favorite part of every pinafore.
Well there you have it. A glimpse into my workspace and my first time writing on our blog. Talking to the "world" is new for me, so if I do or say anything dorky you have my permission to ignore it.
-Tere (Bethany's mother and one-half of m•o•m) -in case you were wondering.
